For those who know me I'm more of a
Betsey Johnson meets Coco Chanel when it comes to style. I've always
joked about about being a style schizo hence what landed me in this
position with waaaay too much stuff in the first place. I guess I
never really got over playing dress up and although I wish I could
always just brave the world and let my inner style shine through, I
really do need to be realistic and accept the age old saying –
there is a time and a place..... So I save my different styles for my
different personalities and too be honest it suits me just fine. In a
way I kinda prefer it. It gives me the opportunity to be a different
me every day.
While I adore my tucked in Pussy Bow
blouses and high waisted pencil skirts with thick banded belts for
work and then my 50's party dresses with peekaboo lace petticoats for
the not casual Friday's, they don't work on weekends since my
boyfriend is virtually married to his dirt bike I'm almost forced to
tone it down. Now this does NOT mean because I find myself at some or
other freestyle park or show that all style sense goes out the
window.... no no.. all it means is finding a different style to suit
my surroundings... so whether it be some Boho chic long flowy maxi
dress with strappy thongs and cut off baggy tank with a bikini
underneath or a short tight denim DC skirt, vest and flat cap its
still a style of my own that matches who I am and what I love!
You'll notice the quote I chose for my
fashion page is “Style is way to say who you are without having to
speak” by Rachael Zoe and what I love most about that is the way
its so true. Its one thing to look at fashion magazines and follow
the latest trends but its a whole other story staying TRUE to who you
are! If you a merely a poser in someone else's clothing then you wont
be comfortable and you wont look good - its simple! There are some
fashion trends that suit the masses and some that need careful slow
infiltration into your wardrobe.... Others are purely ther to look at
and be admired. You need to be smart about the trends you choose!
